Catholic High b boys ease into semis with win over Henderson Sec

CCAB, Wednesday, 25 Feb, 2009 – So it’s going to be Catholic High against Peirce Sec next Monday 2 Mar at 1pm in CCAB for the South Zone basketball semi finals.

Catholic High had defeated Henderson Sec 117-64 to top their group while Peirce Sec won their crucial game against Gan Eng Seng to finish second in their group.

Catholic High b boys banish yesteryear blues with win over RI in south zone

See first half highlights of game:

CCAB, Monday, 23 Feb, 2009 -- It was slightly more than a year ago when RI ended Catholic High’s four-year winning streak at the final match of the first round south zone competition.

Catholic High was pipped in that exciting game in which RI’s Wang Jia Cheng (#10) had a stellar game. The loss had spurred a host of conspiracy theories and allegations which I debunked in this post!

Catholic High C boys score hard fought win over North Vista Sec in friendly

Catholic High School, Saturday, 21 Feb, 2009 – It was a reunion of sorts in the game. Holy Innocents’ Pri 6 2008 students Myron Lim, Jian Fu, Jerome Tan and Amos Teo met up for a friendly match. Except that Myron and Jian Fu was playing for North Vista while Jerome and Amos turned up for Catholic High!

Huge first quarter propels CH b boys to win against Kent Ridge Sec

First Half highlights of game:

CCAB, Friday, 20 Feb, 2009 -- CH captain Jabez Su and centre Chong Ming Xuan more than made up for fellow teammate Goh Kong Tat’s absence with double digit scoring outputs in the first quarter alone.

The first quarter Catholic High blitz enabled the defending champions to finish 36-12 up against Kent Ridge Sec. The team in white was never seriously threatened for the rest of the game in a 95-65 win.

Catholic High B boys cruise to win over Queenstown Sec in south zone second round

CCAB, Monday, 16 Feb, 2009 – It was an easier victory against Queenstown secondary school this time as most of the CH players not only had a good rest over the weekends to recuperate but they prepared themselves mentally for the second round matches. They knew that their second round opponents were not to be trifled with as they played a more serious game compared to the previous few.
