CH ends C division campaign with loss to Hwa Chong
August 5, 2008
5 Aug (Tue) – Singapore Basketball Centre
Mercifully, it all came to an end with a 53-43 loss to Hwa Chong Institution.
But this time at least, the team did perform quite decently to keep the score close throughout the game.
Catholic High centre Justin Lee (#14) may not be a very good passer, but he does have a knack for shooting, leading his team with 21 points.

CH eliminated in nationals as they go down to Dunman Sec
August 1, 2008
1 Aug, Fri, Singapore Basketball Centre – Although Catholic High attempted a fourth quarter comeback with a 20-11 scoreline, it was still not enough to overturn a huge 11-42 first half deficit.
Dunman Sec’s guards #14, #8 and #10 were instrumental for their team. They drove to the basket repeatedly, or else shot, a total of 42 of their team’s points.
The eventual 42-67 loss to Dunman Sec marked the end of the team’s run in the national competition, and an opportunity to reflect on their performances throughout the season.
Before that though, they have to face Hwa Chong next Tuesday in an inconsequential match as far as qualification is concerned, but a most crucial one where pride and self-belief is concerned.
CH starts nationals with a loss to Woodlands Ring
July 30, 2008
29 Jul 08 (Tue), Singapore Basketball Centre – Sometimes it’s hard to get out of a rut.
Catholic High left themselves a deep hole to climb out of when they succumbed 33-54 to Woodlands Ring in a first round national inter-school C Division match.
Woodlands Ring used a 29-13 second half blitz to pull away decisively after a close first half.
The only positive that the team can take away from the match is healthy bodies for the crucial next two matches. There is still a chance, although a slim one, that the team can still qualify. All is not lost.
They would have to improve greatly in their performance as a team though, and do it urgently.
CH extends losing streak with loss to Mayflower
July 23, 2008
23 Jul (Wed) – CCAB
It’s not often you hear about Catholic High on a losing streak.
But Mayflower’s Lingyi (#7) scored a spectacular 3-pointer from the baseline with less than ten seconds on the clock to send the game into overtime and deny Catholic High.

By Jarryl Chan and Bryan Mui of 1-1
21 July 2008 (Mon)
Catholic High left CCAB crestfallen. They were left to go home to reflect about their performance, about what they had or had not done to have lost the match to Yuying by a rather big difference, 54-40.

CH horror show in South Zone semi final
July 22, 2008
21 Jul (Mon) – CCAB
It’s even painful as I write this.
Yuying Sec took full advantage of a fumbling Catholic High display to win the semi final 54-40. They will proceed to the final against Raffles Institution, who easily beat Mayflower 61-33 in the other semi final.
