Joseph House wins upper sec inter-house 3 on 3 on countback in Sports Day 2010

Catholic High School, Friday, 21 May 2010 -- Joseph House pipped Edward House for the upper sec 3 on 3 inter house basketball title despite Edward House winning their matches by greater margins. Edward House though, did manage some consolation when they clinched the overall title and their lower sec team romped to the 3-on-3 title. A measure of the closely fought contests was when Philippe came in fourth despite having beaten Joseph in their game!

Yang Ming wins CH track and field high jump final

Catholic High School, Tuesday, 18 May, 2010 -- C Division captain Tan Yang Ming edged out fellow classmate and house representative Xavier Lim to win the Sec 2 High Jump final with a height clearance of 1.56m.

Track and Field C division team holds off rival schools for runners-up position

Chua Chu Kang Stadium, Wednesday, 14 Apr, 2010 -- Catholic High School’s Heng Yu Jie led from start to finish in the C division boys 1500m finals to win the race in a time of 4 minutes 34.71 seconds. With the win, he achieved a rare distinction of garnering a double gold-medal haul with his 3000m final win as well.

More importantly, his clinching of 18 points from the two events contributed to Catholic High’s eventual points total of 81, just enough to hold off a charging Singapore Sports School with 79 points and Raffles Institution with 74 points.

Hwa Chong Institution clinched the C Division title with an unassailable lead of 131 points.

B division team player Bryan Koh earns gold in javelin

Chua Chu Kang Stadium, Monday, 12 April, 2010 – Bryan Koh hurled the javelin 52.37m to earn the gold medal in the B division javelin competition. What’s more, he missed the record by a mere 0.9m!

His nearest competitor, Tan Wen Han from SJI, finished a distant second with a best throw of 46.42m.

Catholic High’s Timothee Yap completed a happy day for his school with a new record of 55.48 seconds in the B division boys 400m Hurdles event. He also garnered the gold medal in the process.

Catholic High School, Friday, 12 Feb, 2010 -- Justin Lee of 4-9 sang a Cantonese song at the school’s Chinese New Year celebration.

Batch of 2009 performed well in GCE O Levels

Catholic High School, Monday, 11 Jan, 2009 – The release of the O Level results brought smiles of incredulity and joy to the boys as they saw their grades.

Centre of 2009 team and AYG representative Goh Kong Tat topped the batch with with an L1R5 score of 10 points!
